Made Less Logical by Original Sin

Can you have a difference in "muchness" of something insubstantial? (In aliis verbis, does this post add anything to this blog?)

Howdy.

Well, the first exams in biology and physics are done, and now there's just organic chemistry on Monday night. It will take a little practice to "get" this game, I think. It seems that the tricky thing is this: whereas at other (certain) places of learning, the important part is what you understand, the key here seems to be what you don't know how to do... the objective of the testing seems to be not to really get a look at what you can explain, but to trip you up and find one problem you can't do. ---I'm not saying that calculation problems are irrelavent, just that they're a different ballgame. (I also learned today that checking over the grading is a great idea... my score was marked 9 points lower than it should have been! Thankfully, that was cleared up without a problem.)

Okay, that is definitely a sufficient amount of verbage spent on discussing tests. Now on to life...

One delightful thing about my light schoolwork schedule and absence of work-study responsibilities is that am at leisure to practice music nearly every day while the house is empty(sometimes many times a day!) The parrot is delighted at the high noises that come out of my violin, and usually doesn't complain about squeaks and intonation mishaps.

Sometimes he sings along with the piano, too- I've been working on a prelude, a minuet, and a march, all by Bach.

Happy feast of Our Lady of the Rosary!

Happy feast day! It appears you're adjusting to life in the 'real world schools.' I also get to take a break from the intellectual atmosphere by spending my weekend at a dental waxing course in UCLA. It's quite fun, and I can read seminar (Descartes) when I'm waiting for the next procedure to be explained.

Keep up the music — Bach is such a splendid composer.

Hi!!
What's dental waxing?

In seminar, remember not to put Decartes before the pig... or the Bacon, as the case may be.

PS a new diagnosis: Antiquistultitia Misperception Syndrome.

"Textbook case" patient may present with normal appearance and pulse, but saying things like, "they had no idea how things fell before Newton, because they were too busy worrying about how they were going to fix their broken tooth. I'm not sure how they did that- maybe they pulled it out with a rock."

Indicated for such a case is treatment including systemic use of 3-logic-2,5-dithoughtacetate (commercially available as P&P Analytica), also topical use of Magnalibralegere-oxic acid (brand name Distinguo) as needed.

Tooth-waxing is the process of building wax onto a crown prep (shaved down tooth) in the shape of a healthy tooth for the sake of casting gold into the proper shape.

What is P&P Analytica? If I were familiar with this substance I could promote this treatment. I know of a few people who could use the rememdy.

P & P Analytica is produced by Mind of Aristotle, Inc., and available through distributors such as McKeon and Apostle. Loeb also sells it in tablet form, with the original compound on the one side, and a not-so-pure reformulation on the other side.

How is your "deciding whether or not to be a dentist" coming along?
