What I've done over summer vacation...

So, if I were going to write one of those stereotypical first-day-of-third-grade essays, here's what I could say so far: (The things that have been waiting until I didn't have to study.)

*Wrote and mailed thank-you notes to the people who gave me donations for the walk this summer.

*Dropped off some Crossroads stuff at church for the Knights of Columbus.

*Bought a replacement for my superannuated pajama shirt

*Washed the car (for the second time since August!)

*Threw away my notebook, a mountain of powerpoint slide printouts, and random graded assignments.

*Called to follow up on something like I should have done a month ago

*Painted a ceiling and a doorframe

*Rehung a door

All in all, a pretty good first eight hours of summer break. (Maybe not so interesting to read, but hey, at least I'm blogging.) You know, the end of school really doesn't have the same import when you are in charge of it- I am only done with school now because that's the way I set up my schedule. It's not nearly as cheering and comforting as being carried along the the wave of events at, say, TAC.

Well, enjoy your wave, even if it may be breaking over your head.
